Buy any Cisco product such as Routers and Switches and then you will have the IOS! If you have any cisco devices you can create a back up ios using tftp and you can you gns3. So I purchased series router. I have been unable to backup the ios image to my tftp server, which means that I can not utilize it in GNS3. Any ideas around my problem? Keith use a console cable and log in to router. Configure management vlan 1 by default with an IP address. Then connect an ethert cable from laptop to one port lets say port 1 and enable it. Assign urself a static ip Ur gateway should be. At that point lunch tftpd32 is free and make sure u set the default directory. Do not try to save the image from flash to laptop tftp server using a console u need an ethernet connection.

I see what your talking about antonios, but Chris is with GNS3 and maybe he is just having a bad day. I don't know why though since GNS3 1. Everyone has been really helpful! Perhaps Chris's tone was misinterpreted? Gns3 is an amazing product and we all owe our successes to it. Noone denies his capabilities and knowledge and we thank him for that. His mannerism needs to be adjusted because he is unprofessional and he suggested exactly the same thing i did. His suggestion was to use console and configure the router to eatablish an ip path between computer and cisco router. What i proposed was the same solution and indeed i thought we were talking for a Layer 2 switch. Keith i am glad tou received the appropriate help much success my friend.

However, when I try to implement the software I get a message that bascaily says that I need Cisco IOS.
